Cinema as a group therapy to foster interpersonal relationships among adolescents.
The film tells the story of third grade students by Giuliano Teatino, Istituto Comprensivo Miglianico, Chieti. A “difficult” class from the first media that struggled to become a group. There are several reasons that led to this relational and incommunicability difficulty. Many of them are not resident in the municipality of Giuliano Teatino, but come from neighboring countries, others are children of non-EU citizens perfectly integrated in the territory, then the socio-cultural problems have done the rest. Thus these pupils have come to the end of the secondary school education without cohesive one another, above all, without having learned to know each other.
The cinematographic medium has given them the opportunity to look at each other, to express that apparently dormant self that did not wait to be stimulated, provoked, by staging themselves, their fears, expectations, dreams. “A new day” is not only the title of the film, but also the hope of living life and human relationships with less fears and prejudices.
