Reading hedge among the lines. Virginia Woolf book “The Waves” is colored by indelible pens, and only letters buttonholes are still white; a video shows a hedge lengthwise, as to read and explore it. The book and the hedge are related: the letters white buttonholes and the ink trails remind the light crossing the hedge. Woolf novel was born from a suggestion of the author, who wanted to portray “a mind thinking inside islands of light, islands in a running ood. (…)” As she says so, the hedge is the atmosphere of the novel.

Light with shoulders on the wall. The light passing through the leaves of different trees, drawing images and maps of imaginary places, becoming elements making the story of characters that met casually. Images are similar, but they reveal their singularity only in comparison, and we can understand them looking at their differences, not at their points in common. Her works are white images made using photos framing the light through the leaves of different trees. The spaces crossed by the light have been traced; the cutting off of a space usually empty is reversed to make it “full”: the light will become shadow, and the other way around. Fragments and characters are made of their connections with the others; they don’t exist if someone doesn’t remember them.
